1 Month Anniversary!

We reopened 4 weeks ago today! It's been a busy and fun filled month. We're grateful to all the new friends who have stopped by and our loyal clientele who've been with us since the beginning 6 1/2 years ago and encouraged and supported us through our relocation.
We're so happy to be here in our cozy new nest!

Cabinet Painting Workshop

We are so excited! Nancy, of Artworks Spokane, our amazing Chalk Paint (TM) stockist and painting expert will be leading a workshop focused on cabinet painting on Sat, Sept 22.
Many friends have expressed an interest in painting their cabinets.  In this workshop, you will be learning from the best. This will be a 4 hr workshop and lunch will be included. This would also be applicable to furniture painting. We are so happy to have Nancy leading a workshop here in Colfax!

Play With Paint

Today was Play With Paint day at The Hen House Chicks. These gals brought in a small item and used our supplies to transform it. Everyone went home with a completed piece. We'll be doing this frequently, so watch for notices. We'll probably do it for the next several Saturdays. There is a small workshop fee to cover the cost of supplies.

Allie was thrilled with her mixed media canvas!
We hope to see you at a workshop soon!

Meet the Paint

We held our Meet the Paint workshop on Thursday

Joelle, our terrific rep from Artworks Spokane

Nancy led several sessions and did a great job her first time out!
These gals went home with some great ideas

Everyone had a great time painting sample boards. Several have already been back to buy more paint and they're loving the waxing brushes, too.

Summer at The Hen House Chicks

Summer finally found the Palouse around the middle of July; we skipped Spring altogether, but our flowers are loving the warm weather.

This vintage tricycle comes fully equipped with a wicker basket potted with beautiful mums.

Why did the Chicks cross the road?

To get to our beautiful new nest on the other side!

I'll let you browse

How cute is this ephemera chandelier? We have a matching floor lamp, too.

Donna, of whirlwind packing fame, and Cherry Alice toasted our reopening

This possum belly table came from a long gone farmhouse in the area

Obviously telling someone all about it!

And, of course, our new office will always be this neat and tidy!

We want our friends to enjoy every aspect of their visit!

Thanks so much for stopping by! We'd love to visit with you in the store.

Opening Day, at last!

Open!!
The front of our great new location.  Hanging lanterns and a brand new awning will be added soon.
In case you missed it, We're OPEN!!
Our amazing landlord, Don, had these beautiful flowers delivered for our Friday night Open House.

This gorgeous fern was sent by Trish, my longtime friend in CA. Chris at The Cottage Gate picked a pot she thought would blend beautifully with our decor, and she was right. She delivered them herself so she could congratulate us on our brand new location. We had the perfect spot for it.
Nancy's daughter, Maggee, helped us get ready to open with every spare minute she had. She's our "Tech Dept" and got everything up and running for us. She also ran the cash register for us for our Open House. Thanks, Maggee!
Our friend, Nila, from Oregon who came up and spent a long week helping us unpack and get a million things done to reopen, sent this beautiful bouquet.
Don stopped by to wish us well before we opened.
It's been a long 2 months since we moved from our old location and an especially busy 3 weeks setting up the new one, but we are so happy to be here. We have a list of people too long to name here to thank for helping us in a dozen different ways. We couldn't have done it without them. But we do need to mention Don, our terriffic landlord who worked so hard to make the building beautiful, Nila & Diana who spent long days helping in so many ways, Maggee, who spent every free minute here, her brother, Ben, our faithful furniture mover, and our patient husbands, who hauled trailers full of furniture and boxes, unloaded same, and moved furniture around more than once. And we can't forget Linda, Donna and Bob, our marathon packers.
